Therapy in San Luis Obispo
Natalie Watson
Associate Therapist
Welcome, I am so glad you are here! My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curioustiy and compassion while using evidence based tools to help create lasting change. Life can feel heavy when you're carrying old wounds, in a relationship or marriage that is painful with repeated patterns, or the quiet feeling that something just isn't working anymore. I know meaningful change is possible for individuals and couples and I am passionate about helping you get there. In my work I use several approaches including EMDR, attachment based therapy, Gottman, parts work, and somatic interventions. These approaches allow us to not only talk about challenges but also work with the nervous system and deeper emotional layers where patterns are formed. It would be a honor to support you in your healing journey.

Background
Training, experience, and the path that informs Natalie's work.
My background includes a bachelors degree in Intercultural Studies and Pyschology. While going to school I was working with diverse communities and supporting youth navigating trauma and life challenges including gang violence and economic hardship. I also lived in Brazil working with survivors of sexual trauma and human trafficking which deeply shaped my passion for therapy. During my masters program, I supported youth and families navigating the foster care system and also continued my work working with survivors of sexual trauma, domestic violence, and human trafficking. I have specialized training in trauma informed therapy and EMDR which allows me to support clients in processing all different types of difficult experiences in ways that feel safe and manageable. I also have experience working with children, teens, young adults, couple's and families.
More About Me
A quick glimpse of who Natalie is outside the therapy room.
When I am not in the therapy room, I value time in nature, movement, and meaninful connection with the people in my life. I enjoy activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, and spending time outdoors! I also really value creativity which will lead me to reading books out in the sun, painting at home, or joining classes like ceramics or yoga.
